The rule

Your passport decides, not your UAE residency

Indonesia's visa rules are based on passport nationality, not where you live. UAE residents who are not Emirati citizens — including Indian, Filipino, Pakistani and Egyptian passport holders — follow the rules for their own passport, though most qualify for the same Visa on Arrival (VOA) as Emirati passport holders.

The VOA costs approximately IDR 500,000 (around AED 115), covers a 30-day stay, and can be extended once for a further 30 days — 60 days in total. An e-VOA can be applied for in advance at evisa.imigrasi.go.id to skip the queue on arrival.

  • Passport valid for at least six months from arrival
  • A return or onward ticket
  • A separate Bali tourist levy of IDR 150,000 (~AED 35) applies to everyone
